40 days of Lent:
As a child this was a time when we had to give up everything that I considered fun or delicious. Literally I had a jar that, if I was given a treat, it had to go in the jar. The temptation of having that live on my bedside table was huge! These days we still GIVE, FAST, PRAY but it is positive. We GIVE through action, we can FAST from things we would like to change eg guilt, impatience, intolerance and PRAY by finding God throughout our day and being mindful that we are loved as we are.
Project Compassion Stalls
The children understand and embrace Lent as a special time to do much for others. There will be a wonderful variety of stalls, run by students from Years 3 up across our Lenten weeks. They are excited to be raising money for children to have access to water taps, so they can go to school and other wonderful projects. Teachers will be exploring these stories in class.
WEEK 6 STALLS: SWEET HEAVENLY BAKERY
WEEK 7 STALLS: BATH BOMB AND CO, SWEET AND SOUR, SUGAR RUSH, & SWEET DELIGHTS
Stall holders need to be mindful of children with allergies and display their ingredients.
Please return water bottles of small change to your class teacher. The MSC Missions are very grateful for your support.
Ash Wednesday Mass: Mass and receiving the Ashes at 11:15am
Junior Primary will celebrate their own special liturgy earlier in the day, just as their classes.
Confirmation Dates for 2019: Friday 6 September at 7pm and Saturday 7 September at 10am.
First Holy Communion will be at Parish Masses once students have been confirmed. Year 4’s will receive details regarding enrolment for the Sacraments of Confirmation and First Eucharist early in Term 2.
