Parents are the first and most significant influence in the lives of their children. We work in partnership with you to support your child through their early years of development.
We welcome the involvement of our families in the life of our school. It is your connection, support, energy and ideas that assist your school to develop and grow – whether that is through the decision-making and governance of the School Board or sharing in our community-wide events or sport.
In our school community, we truly value and appreciate your contribution of family and significant others, and we know your child appreciates it too.
Becoming a volunteer at Star of the Sea School consists of four steps:
Complete a Volunteer Application Form
CESA Police Check
Participation in our Induction Course
RAN Training for Volunteers
Induction Courses are run throughout the year. If you are considering being involved as a volunteer (which includes up-and-coming excursions, camps and sports teams) you will need to attend one of these workshops.
Working with Children Check
Parents and carers who volunteer at Star of the Sea School will need to be registered as a volunteer and provide a copy/complete a WWCC (Working with Children Check).
Once you have this clearance you are able to accompany children on an excursion, help in the classroom, volunteer in the Canteen, or in any other way that you would have contact with school children.
