Love in a Bag
Thank you for your kindness in supporting this SRC initiative. If we can all do a little it makes so much difference. The 80s casual day was also a great success and a lot of fun raising $300 for Love in the Bag.
Have you heard of the ripple effect? One small smile can lead to another smile, or a small act of kindness and so on it goes. Recently with my broken arm in its cast I came across a man who had dropped something. He was in a wheelchair. I stopped to help him, but didn’t have enough dexterity to pick up the item, dropped my own jacket, so someone else stopped to help and we all ended up having a jolly good laugh! I don’t know what the other shoppers on Rundle mall must have thought.
Renewal Leave
I am embarking on some renewal leave and Long Service Leave over the coming weeks and I will look forward to sharing these experiences with you upon my return. As part of this leave I shall be discovering the Mercy Story in Dublin and spending time as a Pilgrim at Issoudun in France, experiencing the Heart Spirituality of the msc order. I will be joining with other schools across Australia for this reflective retreat experience. Whilst in Dublin I will be visiting Our Lady of Mercy Convent School. I feel very privileged to visit them, as they will be in the last few days of their school year, a very busy time. It looks like a lovely school, with similar values to us, except that it is all girls! I hope to be able to share our story with them and bring back some of their Mercy stories and charism to share with our community. I wish you well in the coming weeks and look forward to seeing you early next term.
